Legal Literacy- Gamma was a vocational school student from Semarang who was shot dead by the police. The perpetrator was named Robig with the rank of Second Police Inspector (Aipda) who served at the Semarang Police. According to the chronology recorded by CCTV around the crime scene, Robig first blocked Gamma and his friends before shooting. This incident of police slaughtering unarmed civilians has happened more than once, triggering endless waves of protests related to violence committed by the authorities. In Semarang, the wave of protests related to Gamma's death continues to echo, most recently last Thursday (19/12), the masses gathered in the Semarang Kamisan Action movement held a peaceful demonstration in front of the Central Java Police to demand justice for Gamma and appropriate punishment for Robig. In addition, they also demanded the dismissal of the Semarang Police Chief, Kombes Pol Irwan Anwar, who had committedobstruction of justice(obstructing the investigation) by constructing false information regarding Gamma's death.

Different Information Between the Semarang Police and the Central Java Regional Police Propam

Several days after Gamma's death, the Semarang Police held a press conference regarding the chronology of the shooting committed by Aipda Robig. Referring to the results of the press conference, the Semarang Police Chief, Kombes Pol Irwan Anwar explained that Gamma was part of a gangster who was going to have a brawl. Robig's arrival was to disband the brawl. Several pieces of evidence were also shown, such as machetes and several sharp weapons that were said to have been found around the shooting location. Suddenly the press conference added to the complexity of Gamma's death, even according to the security guard on duty that there was no brawl at the shooting location. With that, the public began to suspect that the information provided by the Semarang Police was an attempt to cover up the facts that actually occurred. Different information actually came from the Head of Propam of the Central Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Aris Supriyono, who said that Gamma's death had nothing to do with gangster brawls as accused by the Semarang Police. In fact, Gamma's death was allegedly only due to a motorcycle collision between Gamma and Robig. In fact, during the Hearing Meeting (RDP) between the Semarang Police Chief, the Head of Propam and Commission III of the DPR RI, it was revealed that there were striking differences in the case construction process which actually raised questions regarding its truth. In the RDP, the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Habiburokhman also said that immediately after the news regarding Gamma's shooting, the Police Chief who was contacted directly did not answer the phone or questions asked regarding the truth of the case. So it can be concluded that the Semarang Police Chief took action
