Legal Literacy - We believe that legal understanding is an intellectual right of every citizen. It is a compass that guides us in navigating society, as well as a shield that protects our rights. Starting from this fundamental belief, Indonesian Legal Literacy we officially founded on January 11, 2023.
We are here not just as a news portal. We are a learning space, a bridge that we build with the determination to connect the complexities of the legal world with the reality of your life. Through this page, we want to tell you about our journey—a story about vision, collaboration, and the people behind the scenes who dedicate themselves to you.
Starting from a Spark of Awareness
Every great movement starts from a spark of awareness. For us, that spark came from the founder of Indonesian Legal Literacy, Adam Ilyas, S.H. His experience growing up in Sidoarjo, East Java, gave him a lens to see firsthand how legal information gaps can create vulnerability and injustice.
He honed that awareness into intellectual ammunition while studying at the Faculty of Law, National Development University "Veteran" East Java. Then, he sharpened it with a practical perspective while dedicating himself to the Constitutional Court. These two worlds—theory and practice—became his main provision for giving birth to a platform that is not only academically intelligent, but also relevant and down-to-earth.
Strength in Intellectual Collaboration
An idea will remain an idea without solid execution. At Indonesian Legal Literacy, we strongly believe in the power of intellectual synergy. Our foundation is strengthened by core team who are comrades from the same alma mater, where each brings a crucial piece of the puzzle.
Zihan Maulani, S.H., with his profession as a Prosecutor, provides an authentic and invaluable perspective on state law enforcement. Meanwhile, Amelia Putri Harlina, S.H. and Fahmi Aji Nugroho, S.H. enrich the platform with their experience from the dynamic banking sector. This collaboration between public and private law perspectives allows us to present a complete legal panorama for our readers.
Delving into Discourse, Strengthening Foundations
In addition to presenting easily accessible daily content, we are committed to providing substantive depth. This commitment is realized by our founder, Adam Ilyas, through books that thoroughly examine various important issues, such as "Criminal Procedure Law" (2023), "Judicial Review in Criminal Procedure Law in Indonesia" (2023), and "Criminalization of Trading in Influence" (2022).
These works, whose academic traces are recorded in Google Scholar, are the second pillar of the literacy building we aspire to. It is an invitation for those of you who want to dive deeper and strengthen the foundation of your legal understanding.
Open Call to Speak Up
Our DNA is participation. We don't want to be the only voice. On the contrary, we want to be a stage for many voices. To that end, we are opening an open call for you—academics, practitioners, students, and anyone with concerns and ideas—to contribute your writing. Let's create together a legal dialogue that is alive, critical, and constructive.

This Journey Belongs to Us Together
This journey that we started in early 2023 is still very long, and we don't want to go through it alone. Every article you read, every comment you leave, and every idea you share, is the fuel that keeps our spirits burning.
Thank you for being an inseparable part of this movement. With a spirit of enlightenment that will never fade, we offer,
Literacy Greetings!
