Legal Literacy - Instead of upholding justice, the opposite has been happening lately. This is a great irony for a rule of law country. Indonesia as a rule of law country is not just jargon, but a constitutional mandate that is clearly stated inArticle 1 Paragraph (3) of the 1945 Constitution.
This article should be a wake-up call for all of us, including law enforcement officials, to uphold the rule of law in our beloved country, the Republic of Indonesia. However, the reality on the ground often presents a different picture. There have been too many legal events that have injured the public's sense of justice. The problem of throwing a helmet at a school child until he fell into a coma has not been resolved, and the situation has been exacerbated by the tragedy of an online ojek driver who was run over and died.
If practices like this continue to be shown to the public, will violence after violence continue to occur without the enforcement of sovereign law?
The founding fathers (Founding Fathers) have signaled to the successors of this nation to always prioritize the law over all events that occur. However, unfortunately, the opposite is often practiced. Isn't it ironic? These are questions that must be answered by lawbreakers.
