Legal Literacy- This article discusses the implementation of the e-Court system in Indonesia as a response to the need for modernization of judicial administration and improvement of legal public service efficiency. Through the digitalization of processes such as e-Filing, e-Payment, e-Summons, and e-Litigation, the e-Court system automates and accelerates court administration, improves public access to justice, and strengthens the transparency and integrity of the judicial system. Despite facing infrastructure and data security challenges, the effectiveness of e-Court must be continuously evaluated to ensure that the expected benefits are optimally achieved.

Introduction

The judicial system in Indonesia has experienced significant developments in line with advances in information technology. One of the latest innovations implemented by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia is the e-Court system. This system was introduced as part of efforts to modernize court administration and improve public access to justice. E-Court is an integrated electronic case administration and broadcasting service. The E-Court system includes various features such as online case registration (e-Filing), electronic payment of case fees (e-Payment), electronic summons of parties (e-Summons), and electronic trials (e-Litigation). The implementation of e-Court aims to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial process. Manual administrative processes are often time-consuming, require a lot of time and are prone to human error. In addition, access to court services is also geographically limited, especially for people who live far from the court location. The implementation of e-Court aims to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial process. The development of information and communication technology opens up opportunities to overcome these problems. By utilizing technology, the e-Court system offers a faster, more efficient and transparent solution in the court administration process. This is in line with the demands of modern society who want more responsive and accessible public services. The e-Court system is a response to global challenges, especially in dealing with situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. When physical events occur, this system allows the judicial process to continue without sacrificing the safety and health of the parties involved. This shows the importance of the system adapting to changing social and environmental conditions. The e-Court system not only functions as an administrative tool, but also as an instrument to strengthen the integrity of the judicial system. The e-Court system is also in line with the bureaucratic reform agenda and good governance that the government is promoting. This system encourages transparency and accountability which reduces the potential for corruption, and increases public trust in judicial institutions. The e-Court system also has a positive impact on the management of court archives and documentation. The e-Court system enables more efficient, secure and easily accessible data storage and management. This not only facilitates the court's internal administrative processes, but also supports legal research and the development of jurisprudence in the future. However, the implementation of e-Court also faces various challenges. Uneven technological infrastructure throughout Indonesia, the readiness of human resources, as well as data security and privacy are some of the issues that need attention. Therefore, the implementation of e-Court needs to be accompanied by efforts to increase capacity and sustainable infrastructure. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the e-Court system is important to ensure that this system truly provides the expected benefits.
