JAKARTA, Legal Literacy - The South Jakarta Metro Police are still investigating the cause of death of celebrity Lula Lahfah, who was found dead in her apartment unit in the South Jakarta area. A number of pieces of evidence from the scene have been secured, but the police have not disclosed the details because they are awaiting the results of the Forensic Laboratory (Lab).
Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Grand Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said that complete information regarding the findings at the crime scene would be conveyed after the forensic test is complete. "It will be released after the lab results come out," he said, Tuesday (27/1/2026).
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Iskandarsyah, added that investigators also secured apartment CCTV footage as part of the investigation. He said that there were several other pieces of evidence that were still in the testing process so they could not be presented to the public. The police plan to hold a press conference after all scientific examinations are completed.
Iskandarsyah also asked the public not to speculate and not to spread unverified information. According to him, investigators adhere to the facts in the field and the results of scientific examinations so as not to create incorrect perceptions, especially since the family and closest people are still grieving.
Furthermore, he confirmed that the investigation was still ongoing to ensure whether or not there was a criminal element in the incident. He said that the handling of the case was carried out through an approach scientific investigation.
Lula was found dead in her apartment room on Friday (23/1/2026) night. Initially, the household assistant (ART) was suspicious because Lula had not responded from morning to afternoon. The ART then reported to the apartment security officer. Because the room door was locked, an apartment technician forcibly opened the door at around 5:50 PM GMT+7 and Lula was found lifeless.
In the initial investigation, the police stated that Lula had a fairly serious medical history. For the time being, there were no indications of violence, but investigators are still continuing the examination. Lula's body was buried on Saturday (24/1/2026) at the Rawa Terate Public Cemetery.
