Legal Literacy - International trade is one part of economic activity that has experienced very rapid development, as evidenced by the increasing development of export and import activities, trade in services, investment, licensing and franchising, intellectual property rights, and so on. In addition, the world economy has entered the era of free trade, where trade is carried out peacefully through negotiations and international agreements relating to free trade and focusing on the development of open free markets.
Achieving free trade conditions requires sufficient time because it will have the consequence of the need for regulations that can guarantee the continuation of business activities in an orderly, fair manner, and can accommodate the various interests of business actors. The urgency of these regulations is also to protect state assets and provide justice for a country that cooperates with other countries.
Thus, Indonesia needs new legal instruments that are capable of resolving legal problems in the fields of economics and trade that are developing today. This is because there are an increasing number of legal issues concerning economic or business problems that have not been explicitly regulated in the Civil Code Civil Code (KUHPer) and the Commercial Code (KUHD) which apply in Indonesia.
