Marriage is a legally and socially sanctioned agreement between two individuals that binds them as husband and wife. These two individuals pledge to love each other, meet each other's needs, and support each other throughout their lives. In some cultures, marriage is also considered a spiritual and religious covenant. In Islam, marriage is considered an act of worship, and therefore, there are several regulations that must be followed in order for the marriage to be performed correctly.
What is a Prenuptial Agreement?
A Prenuptial Agreement is an agreement made by a couple who are about to get married, which contains matters that they will carry out during the marriage. Usually, a prenuptial agreement will contain things such as the rights and obligations of each partner, as well as how they will manage their finances during the marriage. In addition, the prenuptial agreement will also include how the couple will deal with problems that may arise during the marriage.
Prenuptial agreements are usually made by both partners before they get married, but some also prepare prenuptial agreements after they get married. The main purpose of a prenuptial agreement is to help couples to better understand and know about their respective rights and obligations, so that they can better appreciate and maintain their relationship during marriage.
In Islam, marriage is considered a very close bond, so couples who are about to get married must make a prenuptial agreement so that they can get to know and understand each other better.
To make a prenuptial agreement, the couple must prepare a marriage contract in which the matters that they will carry out during the marriage will be mentioned. In addition, the couple must also prepare the necessary documents, such as ID card, Family Card, Marriage Certificate, Certificate of Civil Registration (SKCNS), and so on.
Nevertheless, not all couples who are about to marry enter into a prenuptial agreement. Some couples believe that a prenuptial agreement is not important, because marriage is not just a bond between a man and a woman, but also a bond between them and God. Therefore, couples who do not enter into a prenuptial agreement must strive harder to obtain God's blessing, so that their marriage can go well.
