Mandatory Requirements for Collectors: No SPPI, Gently Expel!
Not just anyone can collect debts. When a DC comes, don't be afraid. Ask them to show these 3 mandatory documents:
- Identity Card (KTP/SIM) original collector.
- Official Assignment Letter from the company (make sure your name is listed).
- Financing Collection Profession Certificate (SPPI).
If they cannot show the SPPI, you have the right to refuse their arrival. Say firmly: "Sorry, according to OJK rules, I do not serve illegal collectors without certification."

Constitutional Court Decision: Leasing Companies Must Sue in Court
Based on Constitutional Court Decision No. 18/PUU-XVII/2019, companies leasing or DC may not carry out forced execution unilaterally if the customer objects.
There are only two conditions for vehicle withdrawal:
- There is an agreement of default (you admit to being late in payment).
- You surrender the vehicle voluntarily.
If you do not want to hand over the keys, then leasing they must file an execution lawsuit with the District Court. The act of seizing keys or vehicles on the street can be reported as a criminal act of extortion (Article 368 of the Criminal Code).
