Jakarta, Legal Literacy - Suhartoyo, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, emphasized to the staff of the Constitutional Court, especially those involved in handling election result disputes, not to accept any gifts or promises, including Eid parcels. This is to maintain their integrity and professionalism in handling the 2024 Election disputes.
"Hopefully, they will always uphold the commitment they made in the oath so as not to injure the sense of justice for justice seekers. Because they are part of a fundamental element that can deliver cases that come to the Constitutional Court, and then can be processed in accordance with the provisions and hopefully can provide justice to justice seekers," said Suhartoyo after inaugurating the task force for handling election result dispute cases (PHPU) at the Constitutional Court Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (19/3/2024).
A total of 737 staff of the Constitutional Court (MK) were officially inaugurated as members of the 2024 PHPU case handling team in the area of Building II of the Constitutional Court. The team was formed to provide support to the constitutional justices in adjudicating PHPU cases.
On that occasion, the Constitutional Court employees pledged, "That I, in doing or not doing something in this position, will never directly or indirectly receive from anyone any promise or gift in any form that is suspected or reasonably suspected to be directly or indirectly related to my position."
They also committed to maintaining confidentiality, upholding integrity, discipline, dedication, and professionalism, as well as avoiding abuse of authority and inappropriate behavior.
