JAKARTA, literasihukum.com – The Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setyo Budiyanto, emphasized that the alleged bribery and obstruction of investigation case involving the Secretary General of PDI Perjuangan, Hasto Kristiyanto, is one of the priorities to be resolved immediately.

“I am confident that this will be a case that must be resolved,” said Setyo in his statement at the Supreme Court Building, Jakarta, Wednesday.

Setyo explained that the authority to handle this case is entirely in the hands of KPK investigators. Therefore, he did not provide further details regarding the results of the examination of Hasto on Monday (1/13) last. However, he ensured that the KPK works professionally under the supervision of the public, the supervisory board, and the inspectorate.

On Monday (1/13), Hasto Kristiyanto fulfilled the summons of KPK investigators to be examined as a suspect. The examination lasted approximately 3.5 hours. KPK Spokesperson, Tessa Mahardhika, revealed that the examination focused on documents, electronic evidence, as well as clarification of witness statements related.

“In general, the person concerned was asked for information regarding documents, electronic evidence, as well as clarifying other witness statements,” said Tessa at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta.

In addition, KPK investigators also explored Hasto's knowledge regarding his role in the alleged case, including his involvement with other suspects.

Even though he had been examined, Hasto was not detained. Regarding this matter, Setyo mentioned that the investigator's decision had not led to detention and emphasized that this step was based on investigation strategies and careful consideration.

Case Started from Alleged Bribery of Harun Masiku

On Tuesday (12/24/2024), the KPK named Hasto Kristiyanto (HK) and advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah (DTI) as new suspects in the bribery case related to Harun Masiku. HK is suspected of arranging and controlling DTI to lobby Wahyu Setiawan, a former member of the General Election Commission (KPU), to appoint Harun as a candidate for member of the DPR RI elected from the South Sumatra I Electoral District.

In addition, Hasto is suspected of instructing DTI to hand over bribes to Wahyu Setiawan through an intermediary, Agustiani Tio Fridelina, a former member of Bawaslu who was also an ex-cadre of PDI Perjuangan. Wahyu and Agustiani had previously been found guilty in this case.
