JAKARTA, LEGAL LITERACY — Selection Committee for Candidates for Leadership and Supervisory Board Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK Selection Committee) for the 2024-2029 term faces a heavy challenge. They are at a crossroads between prioritizing the corruption eradication agenda, such as the demands of civil society, or fulfilling political orders to secure positions.
Since being formed by President Joko Widodo on Thursday (30/5/2024), the Selection Committee for Candidates for Leadership and Supervisory Board of the KPK (KPK Selection Committee) immediately started working. "Since Friday (31/5/2024), the selection committee has started working," said the vice chairman of the selection committee who is also the Rector of IPB University, Arif Satria, when contacted in Jakarta, Sunday (2/6/2024).
The Awaited Selection Process
Registration of candidates for leadership and the KPK Supervisory Board will begin on June 26 until July 15. The selection committee will select 10 candidates for KPK leadership who will then be submitted by the President to the House of Representatives (DPR) for fit and proper tests.
